Holistic Living: Connection between inflammation and histamine levels

Three of the most common health issues that my clientele have shared with me over the last two decades are:
1) how terribly they suffer from environmental allergies;
2) how they have developed early on-set arthritis and
3) just how horrible their symptoms are during menopause.  There are a number of factors that contribute to these thee common complaints just as there are a number of complimentary health modalities and life style changes that one can incorporate into their wellness regime.

One supplement that I highly  recommend is Quercetin (in particular the Natural Factors brand which also contains tumeric extract, grapeseed extract and QCo10 (sorry I don’t have enough time to write an entire post about the benefits, but here are a few good links.

The Allergic Patient

From an Aromatherapy perspective, some essential oils provide symptomatic relief to persons who suffer from environmental allergies. Peppermint, Eucalyptus  and Ravensara essential oils may help with the symptomatic relief of allergies.  These oils help with nasal congestion and could be used together (diffused) for a short period of time (15 – 20 minutes) in an ultrasonic water diffuser within close proximity to your work station or on your bedside table.  Or you could blend them together and use in an aroma-stick or inhaler sniffer tube.

For diffusion, consider using:

4 drops of Peppermint
2 drops of Eucalyptus radiata
4 drops of Ravensara

Note:  Aromatherapy, like any other natural therapy, is intended to complement not replace traditional medicine.  When in doubt about any medical condition, always seek medical advice.   See legal
